Carrasco agent opens door for Serie A move
Football Italia is reporting that the agent of Belgian winger Yannick Carrasco has admitted on Radio Marte that he believes his client will eventually play in Serie A.
In the interview, he spoke about how there was interest from Napoli earlier this year but that the player chose China instead signing for Dalian Yifang but also said that because Serie A is growing his client would likely play in the top tier of Italian football “sooner or later”.
The appeal of the competition has gone through the roof since Cristiano Ronaldo moved to Juventus kicking off an exciting summer of transfer activity in the country with multiple teams spending big money which is not a familiar sight in a competition which has been in a steady decline since the glory days of the 80s and 90s.
Christophe Henrotay, the agent of Carrasco, also implied that there may still be interest from teams in the league saying: “I’m not basing that affirmation on hope alone, I have concrete reasons to believe Carrasco will play in Italy in the future.” Although it is yet to be seen if that interest is still from Napoli or if another team is chasing the 25-year-old.
