Sneijder considering Serie A return
Wesley Sneijder is considering a move back to the Serie A, according to his agent Guido Albers.
His agent claims that he has already been in Rome for discussions with Sampdoria, who are one of, surely, many clubs interested in signing the talented midfielder.
The Dutch international scored five times in 31 appearances for Galatasaray last season and is now looking for a new challenge for next term.
At 33-years-old, this could be the last move of his career and Sneijder will want to get it right.
Speaking to ESPN, his agent said this:
Nothing has been decided yet and as things stand, there was just that one meeting in Rome, which was [Samdporia’s] first approach.
We are talking about a big club with a great history behind them. Wes loves Italy and it could be a possibility, but I repeat — there is no news at the moment.
Sneijder has played for some of the biggest clubs in Europe during his career in Ajax, Real Madrid and Inter.
The attacking midfielder has been in Turkey for the last five years, accruing 173 appearances for Galatasaray, scoring 45 goals.
He is also still competing at an international level and has 131 caps for Holland, having earned five caps this year – scoring once.
