Milan have announced in their Tweet that Cahanoglu will be in Milan for 5pm ahead of his proposed medical.
Calhanoglu will now complete his medical on Monday before being officially announced as a Milan player.
Reports suggest that Milan are paying €20m – with a further €4m in potential add-ons – to Bayer Leverkusen for the midfielder.
Milan have already made five signings this summer, with Andre Silva, Frank Kessie, Fabio Borini, Mateo Musacchio and Ricardo Rodriguez all joining the club this summer.
Calhanoglu missed the second half of last season after he was issued a four-month ban by FIFA for an incident earlier in his career.
The Turkish international accepted a £100k payment from Trabzonspor to sign for them but then went against that to extend his contract with his current club.
