Gervinho out for three weeks
AS Roma have released an official statement on their site confirming that Gervinho will be out for at least three weeks, after picking up an injury during the International break.
Gervinho featured in both of Ivory Coast’s qualifiers against Liberia where they won by 1-0 and 3-0, which secured their World Cup ticket.
However, Roma will have to make it without their Ivorian star for now. Gervinho picked up a muscular lesion during the International break and he’s expected to be sidelined for at least three weeks, a major setback for Roma and the winger himself.
Gervinho will also miss the Champions League game against Barcelona next week, along with Mohamed Salah. Two stars that have been crucial for Roma this season, will be out for one of their toughest games so far.
Today, Roma released an official statement on their site about Gervinho and his injury:
Gervinho underwent tests this morning which revealed he is suffering from a thigh strain.
The Ivorian forward, who has struck seven goals for the Giallorossi this season, went off after 72 minutes of his national team’s match against Liberia on November 17.
He is expected to be sidelined for three weeks.
Gervinho and Salah have scored a total of 13 goals for the Giallorossi this season, assisting to four.
