Calhanoglu grateful to Milan for signing him
AC Milan midfielder Hakan Calhanoglu has thanked the club for signing him and giving him the chance to play at the San Siro.
Milan confirmed on Monday that Calhanolgu signed for the club from Bayer Leverkusen on a four-year contract.
Reports suggest that Milan have paid €20m – with a further €4m in potential add-ons – to Bayer Leverkusen for the midfielder.
Speaking to Milan TV, via Football Italia, Calhanoglu said this:
Thank you for everything, for giving me the chance to play at San Siro. I want to give my best.
I am free and want to give everything I have. AC Milan is a very good club, the most important club for me because they have so much history and I hope we can do it again.
I hope to start the season well, we have an important Europa League game and hope we are in the top three at the end of the Serie A season. I hope and know we can do it.
Milan have already made five signings this summer, with Andre Silva, Frank Kessie, Fabio Borini, Mateo Musacchio and Ricardo Rodriguez all joining the club this summer.
Calhanoglu missed the second half of last season after he was issued a four-month ban by FIFA for an incident earlier in his career.
The Turkish international accepted a £100k payment from Trabzonspor to sign for them but then went against that to extend his contract with his current club.
