Giaccherini eyes regular playing time
Napoli‘s Emanuele Giaccherini is eyeing more regular playing time having fully recovered from an injury sustained at the start of the season.
The diminutive attacking midfielder, who starred for Italy at the European Championship’s as they reached the quarter-final stage, joined the Partenopei from Sunderland but has struggled to nail down a starting berth under Maurizio Sarri.
Speaking to Radio Kiss Kiss Napoli, 31-year-old Giaccherini had the following to say:
We need to put the problems against Genoa behind us. Chievo are a difficult opponent. They are an experienced team and are difficult to overcome. I want to be able to get on the pitch as soon as possible, I want to give the team a hand. I need to play.
Napoli’s midfield is an extremely competitive one and arguably one of the most competitive in the league. This has also seen fellow summer addition Amadou Diawara still being left waiting to debut for the San Paolo outfit, something that doesn’t seem to be phasing him too much.
