Preziosi: “Napoli for scudetto”
Genoa president Enrico Preziosi has spoken on the refereeing controversy in last night’s game with Napoli, as well as backing the Partenopei to go all the way.
The Grifone held the visitors to a 0-0 draw last night, in a game that would’ve seen Napoli go top if they’d won. It was also the first time this season that Napoli failed to score a single goal in a game having had an average of four a game beforehand.
He spoke on Radio Kiss Kiss Napoli and admitted,
Napoli are a great team, they made us run and suffer. Juric had prepared very well, he knew that against Napoli you can’t go for too many dreams as they’re well coached by Sarri and play good football
He then – albeit reluctantly – spoke on the refereeing decisions in the game.
After such an intense and emotional game I’m not going to talk about referees, errors and incidents. You could argue that any touch by a hand is a foul, but it didn’t interrupt the dangerous attack Napoli were building. The referee could have whistled, but it wasn’t a decisive incident.
Preziosi, whose side have European football aspirations then tipped last night’s opponents for scudetto glory.
I’m sorry for the Azzurri, I hope they win the League but it’s possible to draw in Genoa, it was the right result for both teams. If Genoa or Napoli had won it would have spoiled what the game was a little bit, but of course I hope Napoli can win the Scudetto soon.
